The first concept version of Evo 10 model was unveiled in 2005 in the 29th Tokyo motor show. The sedan rides high on looks and has fantastic features. The car features a 4B11T 2.0L turbocharged inlike-4 GEMA engine. The engine is capable of generating 295 horsepower and 300 lb-feet torque. Mitsubishi Evo models have been very successful ever since the Evo 1 hit the markets and with innovations and upgradations in the technical aspects of the sedan, the Lancer Evo 10 comes equipped with all the necessary features that make it a success in the markets.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo was rewarded with Consumer Search’s best aggressive sports car in June 2006. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo also won the car of the year award in 2004-05 in France and Scotland. The sport compact car magazine awarded Evo with Sport Compact Car of the Year in 2004. Similarly in Greece, the car was the Best New Car under € 60,000. In the Canadian show, Motoring 2009, Lancer Evo 10 won the award for the Best Performance car.

Variants of Evo 10

The American version of Evo 10 comes in various variants. The GSR and MR are the basic variants but there are further variants in the MR category that the car is sold in. MR Premium, MR Touring and SE are the three versions that have picked up in USA and are being sold in heavy numbers all over the States. In the land down under, along with the GSR and MR versions of Lancer Evo, the Bathurst Edition is being sold. The Bathurst Edition comes with a power output of 336 PS of torque.

Engine rated 300 PS, 330 PS, 360 PS and 400 PS at 6500 rpm each are being sold in the UK. These variants are known as FQ-300, FQ-330, FQ-360 and FQ-400 respectively. In Malaysia and South America, both GSR and MR model are being sold in heavy numbers as well. The demand for Lancer Evo has gone up at a fast pace in the last few years and with the introduction of Evo 10, even more models of Lancer Evo are being sold all over the world.
